The February edition of  Monitor, an American Psychological Association publication, features an article, “Threat Assessment In Action”. It focuses on the key role Psychologists have played in the development and implementation of best practices for the threat assessment process. This process was used as early as 2001 to thwart a potential school attack.
The article provides a detailed discussion of what threat assessment is and what it isn’t. The Monitor  article includes information provided by Dr. Randazzo, and Dr. Deisinger, both Managing Partners of SIGMA TMA.  They are featured as two of the ongoing experts who have helped to establish and continue to evolve best practices in this field.
